Hi! I’m Yhane
I write stories about smart women who use their wit and grit to build amazing lives for themselves and their communities.
They know how to make something out of nothing.
I write stories about the incredible history, legacy and impact Black people have had in building this country.
Do yourself a solid and learn the whole story not just his story. You will feel even more empowered, proud and amazing.
My first job was picking blueberries in one of Jersey’s finest blueberry fields. I am no stranger to hard work.
In the 1990s B.C. - (Before Children) I worked as a PA, AP, PM, PC, AD on films, TV shows and commercials.
I have written, self- produced, directed and edited four scripted podcasts/audio dramas. My first series, Harlem Queen is highly acclaimed and listened to all over the world.
I am a Bundles Scholar at Columbia University, selected for AIR’s New Voices ‘24 and Tribeca Festival. I am a ten time LMCC grantee.
I just recently learned that I am the great-great granddaughter of a Civil War Veteran who was a freeman in 1850. That’s one of the reasons why I keep my maiden name - Washington.
